Ramblings of a hopeless romantic with wedding fever

Great to see you again!! Y'all don't forget to fan me on Facebook, and subscribe to my Examiner articles!

Last summer, I had the privilege of spending an afternoon with my husband’s grandmother, NanNan.  She is a wonderful, vibrant, opinionated woman, and I learned a lot about her that day.

I learned how she met her husband, which is an adorable story.  When she tells it, you can tell she remembers every moment, and she enacts it as it must have happened.  You get the sense that if you listen hard enough, you can really picture it all happening.  My in-laws have a photo of them at the State Fair (their first date) in their office.  Even though it was their first date, you can see a sparkle in their eyes as you look at the picture.  I think they both “knew” very early on they had found the one.

Speaking of the one…it is T-4 days and counting until my sister in law’s wedding.  I am sorry to say her wedding week hasn’t started out blissfully, but I am sure things will only get better, and by Saturday, no one will care what happened on Monday morning!

I cannot wait to see her beautiful and glowing in her dress!

I am a sap, and love weddings.  My husband wants to find a barbecue place he heard about on TV so he can buy some sauce.  Apparently this sauce is so good people drink it (the thought of which makes me want to gag).

So…I’ll think about weddings, and fun, and The Dinner.  We still haven’t practiced!!  But we have discussed manners every day at the dinner table.  There are new problems occurring every day.  DQ has decided leaning back in her chair until she falls out of it is “the” fun thing to do.  It has been hard convincing her to stop.  Cub still won’t sit down for an entire meal to save her life.  Ace still prefers to throw his food on the floor, and then eat it.  All of these things are enough to give me a mini-panic attack.

So I continue to think about weddings and the hot beverage bar that they are having instead of alcohol.  I love all of her ideas for the wintery themed wedding!  I’ll bet it will be beautiful and romantic and I hope it is everything she has dreamed of for the past year (and then some).

Congratulations N!  We love you so much and hope your day is happy, and that it is just the best start to the rest of your lives together!

Also, can I come along on your honeymoon to Italy?

…Not just no, but h-e-double hockey sticks no?

I kind of anticipated that answer.

Now you have me looking forward to it too, and I’m not even going! Can’t wait to here about The Dinner. Oh, and details about the Hot Bar. :)
