My little monkeys started The Little Gym!

Great to see you again!! Y'all don't forget to fan me on Facebook, and subscribe to my Examiner articles!

For the past two weeks, I have been taking my younger two to class at our local Little Gym.

One of these days I’ll bring my camera to document … but no one else does so I just assumed we weren’t allowed.

Last week, Cub screamed “MOMMA!!!” the entire time she had to sit outside Ace’s class. Separation anxiety at it’s finest. This week, she cried for five minutes, tops! She played quietly and glanced forlornly at me the rest of the time.

Ace, meanwhile, started to be more social. During free play, he kicked the other kids…but not to be mean (I don’t think), it looked like a game of footsies! The other kids started kicking back and they were all smiling. He shared the balls, he walked under and rode on top of the parachute, he patted the mat with me during the hello and goodbye songs (and these are all things he refused to do last week).

Last week, Cub had a meltdown during the final few minutes of class because the teacher wouldn’t let her blow the bubbles. There are rules little Cub has to follow; she can’t stamp herself and she can’t blow the bubbles. This week, after a little discussion about how bubbles were for her to play with and not blow, she did great! Not one tear (until stamp time). So she didn’t get her stamps because it is impossible to stamp a kicking foot!

However, she did a forward roll all by herself this week.  She plays well with the other kids, she always claps for everyone else, and she sat with me for the song time this week, too!

Both kids are improving so much and having a lot of fun!!
